Sakie

I had an idea for my first board graphic, a dragon wrapping around the board with a graffiti laser beam shooting from its mouth. I’ve always loved dragons because they appear so powerful. I’ve been doing graffiti for about two years so I wanted to incorporate it into my board. So I thought...graffiti dragon!

I decided to use my graffiti name,”Sakie”, for this board because it is meant to represent me. The dragon’s head is at the nose of the board, shooting the beam and graffiti towards the tail. The blue dragon contrasts with the red/ orange/ yellow background. The purple and gold graffiti work well with all the surrounding colors. The graphic was hand made, layer-by-layer, with a series of 9 or 10 stencils, as well as some free hand paint marker work.

My love of dragons and graffiti was my inspiration for this board as well as some ideas from my classmates. Personally I couldn’t be happier with how this board turned out. I’m happy I not only got to do this as a school assignment, but I get to keep this board and ride it. I get to represent myself on the street while I’m riding it!
